Overview

Baseline is a tennis match tracking app built by DotsTech. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

Who Uses Baseline

Baseline accounts are for adults — typically parents, guardians and coaches. The players you track are often children. Their information is entered by you, not collected from them, and by adding a player you confirm you are their parent or guardian, or have their parent or guardian's permission. Children should not create their own accounts; if you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Account & Sign-In

You can sign in with an email address and password, with Google, or with Apple. Sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth. We receive your email address (with Apple, this may be a private relay address) and use it to run your account and send important account messages. We never see your Google or Apple password.

Data We Collect

• Email address
• Player profiles you create: names, handedness, gender, date of birth, notes, and optional profile photos
• Match data: formats, scores, results, and the point-by-point records you enter
• In-match notes and post-match summaries you write
• App settings and preferences
• Subscription status (plan, renewal and expiry dates). Payment details are handled by Apple or Google and never reach us.

Your data is stored in our cloud database so it is available across your devices and survives a reinstall. A copy is also kept on your device so the app works offline.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide match tracking, statistics, head-to-head records and opponent tendencies
• To sync your data across your devices
• To generate AI training insights, if your plan includes them
• To show a live score to people you share a match link with
• To manage your subscription

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or show ads.

AI Training Insights

If your plan includes AI insights, they are generated when you open the Insights tab for a player. We send that player's match statistics (including combined opponent statistics and the date range of the matches), handedness and age group to OpenAI to generate the recommendations. We do not send the player's name, exact age or date of birth, or photos. OpenAI processes the request under its API terms: it does not use API data to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring before deleting it.

Profile Photos

Baseline asks for photo library access only when you choose a profile photo for a player. The photo is uploaded to cloud storage, in a folder tied to your account, so it appears on all your devices. Only your account can add, change or delete it. The app loads it through a long, unguessable link that we never publish, but anyone who has that exact link could open the image. Photos are never shown on shared match pages, and they are deleted when you remove them or delete your account.

Match Sharing

You can share a live match via a link. Anyone with the link can see the score and match statistics, with players usually shown by first name and last initial (a little more of the name is shown when needed to tell two players apart). You can turn a link off at any time, after which it stops working (copies cached by browsers may take a few minutes to expire).

Service Providers

• Supabase — database, authentication and file storage (hosted on AWS)
• OpenAI — generates AI training insights
• Apple App Store and Google Play — process subscription payments
• RevenueCat — manages subscription status across the App Store and Google Play; receives your account id and purchase history, not your name or match data
• Cloudflare — network and security provider for this website and the live match sharing page, which we host ourselves; it processes visitors' IP addresses
• Resend — sends the email confirming you joined the waitlist on this website

These providers process data only to provide their service to us.

Data Storage & Security

Access to your data is restricted with row-level security, so each account can only read and change its own data. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of any breach affecting it as required by law.

Your Choices & Rights

• View and edit your players, matches and notes in the app at any time, and delete matches, notes, and players who have no match history
• Delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete Account
• Cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings
• Contact us to request a copy of your data or to ask any privacy question

Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account in the app, your account, players, matches, notes, summaries, share links, AI insights and profile photos are permanently deleted from our systems straight away. Copies in our database provider's encrypted backups are overwritten within a limited period. Purchase records held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat are kept by them under their own policies.

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist on this website, we use your email address only to confirm your sign-up, to invite you to try Baseline before launch, and to tell you when it launches. Email us to be removed at any time.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
